... the GASOLFIN™ process will be a strong and viable co-process together with a Steam Cracking operation initiating the processing of low-cost ethane feedstocks. A Steam Cracker originally designed for processing naphtha feedstocks will have a significant spare capacity in its naphtha feed tanks plus the propylene, butylene and aromatic separation facilities.

The propylene, butylene and aromatic separation facilities will be mostly idled after migrating to ethane cracking and therefore available for receiving the same products from the GASOLFIN™ unit. Furthermore, these operations will have fully developed transport and marketing networks for propylene, butylene and aromatics.

The GASOLFIN™ process will enable these operations to fully utilize their idled capacity thereby maximizing profitability. Maximum profit is achieved via operating the GASOLFIN™ process in conjunction with the Steam Cracker. Such an operation will have the distinct advantage of utilizing existing Steam Cracker equipment thereby avoiding much of the cost of building a GASOLFIN™ unit. The feed handling and product separation facilities of the existing Steam Cracker will in many cases fully replace the need for construction of such facilities in a grass roots GASOLFIN™ operation. Such an operation represents the lowest possible cost for entry into full scale propylene production.
